Joining Practice
About Enrollment
In order to practice at the Aikido Hombu Dojo, enrollment in the Aikikai Foundation (Tokyo) is necessary.
Observing practice
Hombu Dojo allows observation of practice. However, watching for the sake of tourism, etc, may be refused.
If you would like to observe practice, please contact us in advance or come to Hombu Dojo.
Enrollment procedures
After filling in the enrollment form available at the front desk, submit it together with the enrollment fee to the front desk.
Membership card
After the enrollment procedures are finished, a membership card is printed. Turn in your membership card at the front desk before each practice and pick it up when you leave Hombu Dojo.
Enrollment fee and monthly course fees
There are various courses to practice at Hombu Dojo. The enrollment fee and course fees (applicable through the March 2025 course fees) are as follows.
Please note, Hombu Dojo members are asked to join one of the following courses. As a rule, Hombu Dojo members are not able to use the visitor practice fee.

Detailed practice schedule- After enrollment, fees are to be paid through automatic bank transfer. To do the paperwork, please have your bank book and registered seal.
- When you would like to practice in a class not covered by your course, please pay the visitor fee at the front desk
- If you would like to join the Women’s Special Course but are not a member of the course, please talk to the front desk.
- Once paid, enrollment and course fees will not be refunded (including the 10% consumption tax).
- Yudansha (persons with dan grades) are not able to join the Beginner’s Class.
- As of April 2025, the course fees have been revised.
For people from other dojos
In order to practice at the Aikido Hombu Dojo, you must be enrolled in the Aikikai Foundation (Toyko). People from other dojos who are also members of the Aikikai Foundation Tokyo may join practice using the visitor fee. From April 2025 course fees, there will be a change in price. Please check the “News” page for details. When joining practice, please bring your Aikikai Foundation membership card, or Aikikai International Yudansha Book with you.
